We are located in Flanders, on the border of the "Leie region" and the "Flemish Ardennes" on the edge of the "Bouvelo woods", a remnant of the primeval forest "Methela". Today it is a nature reserve and European protected as part of "Natura 2000".
The Bouvelo woods has a lot of history, in the second half of the 16th century there was a permanent gypsy camp for several decades.
In the middle of the 18th century it was often a hiding place for gangs of robbers, such as that of "Jan de Lichte".
Perhaps there were also passionate stick makers among the inhabitants of the woods at that time, and so history repeats itself.
We are also located on the path of a 7.7 km walking route called "Kleine kluis wandelroute" if you would like to discover it here is a link.
